Emiliana Sparaco is a California-based professional with extensive union experience. As an experienced organizer, she has recruited and organized thousands of union activists to win issue-based campaigns, with a focus on worker-leadership development. Emiliana previously worked as the National Field Director for the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU), IFPTE, Local 70, and received the 2024 J.C. Turner Award for Outstanding Trade Unionist of the Year from the Metropolitan Washington Labor Council.
Before becoming National Field Director, Emiliana spent two years as the first full-time Field Representative at NPEU. She created new recruitment and onboarding materials for more than 30 bargaining units and led the union's bargaining program to successfully win strong first negotiated contracts.
Ms. Sparaco has additional union organizing experience with SEIU locals across California and the Fight for $15, a campaign to raise minimum wage and advance worker rights. She has also volunteered with local civic nonprofits, among other community-based organizations. She recently completed the Labor Relations Certificate Program at Cornell University.
